Introducing the Australian Digital Health Agency carer representatives:
Deidre (Dee) Ellem has been a full-time carer for 48 years. Deidre’s daughter, who suffers from multiple physical and intellectual disabilities, requires intensive support to manage her challenging daily life. She also has Epilepsy and Diabetes type 2. Deidre was also the prime carer for her mother for over 10 years as she transitioned into, and during, her nursing home experience.
Imelda Gilmore is an experienced Dementia Advocate, a voluntary role she sees as a privilege and which she has fulfilled since caring for her husband during his journey with young onset Alzheimer’s disease, which culminated in his death aged 68 in 2016.
Jackie Softly is a parent and grandparent of people with disability. Her adult son has Down syndrome with associated disabilities and health conditions and has a young grandchild who has Autism and intellectual disability.
The webinar will also be attended by Australian Digital Health Agency staff ready to answer your questions.
