The purpose of the National Older Person’s Reference Group (NOPRG) is to ensure that the Older Persons Advocacy Network hears directly from and engages with older people across Australia.

OPAN is currently asking for Expressions of Interest for new members for the National Older Person’s Reference Group (NOPRG) for a period of 12 months.

The National Older Persons Reference Group:

  • Provides strategic advice, from a consumer, carer and community perspective, in relation to aged care policy, including systemic reforms and changes.

  • Identifies issues and priorities that would improve the delivery of OPAN activities and aged care advocacy services.

  • Participates in consultations facilitated by OPAN, by Government, or other relevant bodies.

  • Brings the views, issues and experiences of those that are accessing aged care services or who are past or current carers of those accessing aged care.

  • Engages with their networks and groups to bring a broader perspective to discussions.

Eligibility:
To submit an expression of interest you should be:

  • An older person who is eligible for or receiving aged care, and/or

  • A current or previous carer of someone who was receiving aged care and/or

  • A member of the community who has direct experience of aged care (e.g. a health worker, aged care worker, researcher etc)
