Have you felt irked when politicians, journalists and members of the general public make assumptions about how older people think and feel? Images like the "selfish" baby boomer are based on simple generalities which belie the diverse range of ages, background and beliefs that characterise people in the over 50s age group.
At the webinar we'll be launching our annual 50+ report, which looks at what older people really think about a wide range of social issues and concerns, and I can assure you it's not always what you might expect! I'll be chairing, and we have a terrific range of speakers to share their insights and experience on the issues raised in the report.
Feyi Akindoyeni – communications consultant with with Newgate Research, which undertakes research on behalf of COTA around Australia. Feyi will give an overview of the report.
Aunty Norma – Ingram, local Aboriginal elder and chair of the Wyanga Aboriginal Aged Care Program.
Jenna Price – Sydney Morning Herald journalist, co-founder of feminist group Destroy the Joint and Visiting Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy at ANU.
Lex Marinos – actor, director, writer, comedian, broadcaster, teacher and co-host of 'The Baby Boomer's Guide to Life in the 21st Century'.
