Planning for Your Future

This booklet outlines your rights as an older person, and how to access resources and support for future planning regardless of your age, eccentricity, or life choices that others may not agree with.

That's because everyone has the right to a positive ageing experience and the freedom to enjoy human rights, including the right to:

  • live in safety and free from abuse

  • be treated with dignity and respect

  • adequate food, water, shelter, clothing and health care

  • make their own decisions (if they are capable of doing so and wish to do so), even if others do not agree with those decisions

  • have their wishes respected

  • privacy

  • to seek and receive independent and confidential professional advice
