Country Women's Association of Australia

The CWA advances the rights of women living in regional and remote areas and has advocated for the implementation of measures to reduce elder abuse.

The CWA operates in each State and The Northern Territory and remains the largest advocacy group in the nation for rural and regional Australia.

The seven State and Territory Associations are passionate advocates for their communities and work tirelessly to ensure robust representation to all levels of government on the issues that impact rural and regional populations in their jurisdictions.

Unfortunately, the CWA of Australia ceased to operate in early 2022 (in part) as a consequence of increasingly enhanced avenues of communication, which meant a single point of contact was perceived to no longer be required.

The individual associations have increased capacity to advocate on the issues of concern to their members, however the limited resources of the member associations do not allow for duplication of this capacity at a national level. Links are provided below to each State and Territory Association for your reference.
