Community Educator Training

A Fairer World is running a two day training course for people who have experienced prejudice or stereotyping, as a result of, but not limited to, age, race, sex or disability.

Last updated: 3 December 2025

Have you experienced isolation or discrimination? Would you like to raise community awareness?

This is an exciting opportunity to build your public speaking skills through personal storytelling, with the added option of becoming a paid community educator.

Learn to use your personal experience of prejudice or discrimination to effectively engage audience empathy.

The course is free and consists of two 5-hour sessions run over two successive weeks.

Course dates:

9:30am – 2:30pm

Thursday Dec 4 & Thursday 11 Dec 2025

During the course, you will be guided by trained storytellers to write and present your lived experience story confidently and safely to different audiences.

At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate and be eligible to be a human ‘book’ in the Hobart Human Library. This means telling your story with others in schools and workplaces as a part of A Fairer Worlds diversity and inclusion programs, for which you will receive an honorarium.
