Falls aren’t an inevitable part of ageing — and most can be prevented. Join us for a free community session designed to help you stay strong, steady and confident as you age. Hear from two experts working at the forefront of falls prevention and the real‑world impact it has:

⭐ Professor Anne Tiedemann (University of Sydney) – internationally recognised researcher in falls prevention

⭐ Dr Dane Chalkley (Royal Prince Alfred Hospital) – clinician supporting older people recovering from fall‑related injuries

They’ll bust common myths, share the latest evidence, and offer practical strategies to reduce risk and maintain independence.

This session forms part of our Falls Myth Busting campaign and celebrates Inner West Council becoming a member of the Falls Prevention Alliance Australia, strengthening our commitment to healthy ageing and prevention.

You’ll also be able to explore:

  • Practical tips on improving strength, balance, mobility and vision

  • Programs and supports that can help you stay active and safe

  • A free falls‑prevention exercise class you can book into after the session
