Calls for urgent home support packages after aged care reform delay

Crossbenchers, aged care peak bodies and advocates have called on the government to bring forward thousands of at-home support packages, warning the backlog will worsen with delay.

Under the sweeping aged care reforms, 83,000 home support packages were due to be rolled out from July until the changes were postponed to allow for a smooth transition.

The reforms are now scheduled to come into force from November.
