It can be a daunting task to portray a century of life in a single portrait, but Finn Brophy took on that challenge when he joined a unique project that celebrates our most senior citizens through art.

The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers helps budding artists create portraits of Australia's oldest citizens, through the eyes of the future generation.

The 16-year-old was paired with Bill Newbold, 102, and visited his nursing home once a fortnight over a three-month period.

Originally having nothing in common, the pair quickly discovered their differences were what made the interactions so interesting.
