In July 2025, IKAWIRIA (Indonesian Community Association of Victoria) invited Dementia Australia to give a talk to its members about dementia - when people should be concerned, how to reduce the risk, and how to find support.

Dr Cely Gultom is a GP and specialist in Women’s Health. She explained that your GP is a good place to start when seeking more information and advice about dementia.

She says that dementia is not inevitable as we age: in fact it is not a normal part of ageing, and there is still much to learn about how it happens, why, and how we can treat it.
