Elders say crumbling health facilities are fracturing community

A new joint report from Infrastructure Victoria and the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO ) has found most of the Indigenous community health sector needs urgent infrastructure funding.

One of these organisations in Melbourne's south-east, Dandenong and Districts Aborigines Co-operative Limited (DDACL), was forced to relocate community services after being condemned for asbestos risk.

The report recommends about $150 million is needed in funding over the next decade for the sector to continue operating.
