Grandparents Parenting Grandkids Support Group

Thank you for your interest in finding out more about our Grandparents Parenting Grandkids Support Group.  A growing number of grandparents are taking on the parental responsibility of raising their grandchildren (also known as ‘kinship care’). Raising grandchildren can be rewarding but may also feel isolating, and grandparents often face unique challenges with parenting and accessing support pathways. There are currently no established support groups for grandparents raising their grandchildren in the Bayside and Randwick Local Government Areas.

In response, we are establishing a monthly in-person support group in a safe, confidential and welcoming environment. This group will provide grandparents with opportunities to connect with others, share similar experiences, access relevant information and build supportive networks. Individual assistance and tailored support will also be available to ensure grandparents receive the assistance they need.

This initiative is being set up by Botany Family and Children's Centre (BFCC), who have been supporting children & families in our local community for over 40 years.
