"It's never too late to speak up", Yumi Lee said, CEO of the Older Women's Network (OWN) NSW.
"We believe them. Violence does not expire because you have grown older."
Ms Lee said it's important for health workers and carers to listen and focus on "dignity" and know that older women might use different language to describe their situation.
"She might say she feels uncomfortable, controlled, frightened, or pressured," she said.
The NSW government launched new training resources to help improve the support system for older women who have suffered sexual violence.
