Expressions of interest now open

Silver Pride Advocacy Network is are looking for people from LGBTIQA+ communities to join the Lung Cancer Screening Consumer Committee (the Committee).

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) is working with Lung Foundation Australia to tailor existing resources and raise awareness of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (the Program) for LGBTIQA+ communities.

The Program uses low-dose CT scans to look for lung cancer in high-risk people without any symptoms. It aims to find lung cancer early and save lives.

What the Committee will do

The Committee will meet online to share ideas and experiences. It will help make the Program’s resources more accessible, relevant, and meaningful for LGBTIQA+ people.

What’s involved

  • The Committee will meet four times over 18 months

  • Some extra resource reviews may be needed outside of the meetings

  • Committee members will be paid for their time.
