COTA NSW is a supporter of the Healthy Homes for Renters campaign. The campaign has released new research, "Sweaty and Stressed - Summer 2023" revealing that substandard homes and rising energy costs are making summers unbearable for many Australian renters. With indoor temperatures exceeding 25°C for 40% of the time, physical and mental health are negatively affected.

Cost of living concerns were also high, causing renters to self-ration and endure unlivable temperatures. Mandatory minimum energy efficiency standards for rental homes are necessary to ensure safe and healthy housing for all renters. Read the report here.
