The Queensland of the future is a place where diversity is celebrated, women's rights, interests and wellbeing are promoted, and men and women enjoy equal opportunity and participation.

Each year, the community recognises special times of the year—such as Queensland Women’s Week (March), Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month (May) and Sexual Violence Awareness Month (October)—to send a clear message that gendered violence will not be tolerated, and that our community will strive for promotion and protection of women’s rights, interests and wellbeing.

The Office for Women and Violence Prevention hosts this community events calendar to promote events that occur during these weeks and months, as well as throughout the rest of the year.

We can work together to celebrate the achievements of women and girls, recognise there is still more work to do to achieve gender equality, and inspire the whole community to get involved—all year round.

Community groups are encouraged to register an event to be considered for inclusion in the calendar.

The calendar will continue to be updated in the lead-up to major events such as those listed above, so please check back regularly to find out what is happening in your region.
