Research begins on LGBTIQA+ elder abuse

A research project has been launched to investigate abuse and mistreatment of LGBTIQA+ older people. It will look at the nature and dynamics of abuse, the characteristics of people experiencing or engaging in abuse and mistreatment and the effects on the older LGBTIQA+ communities.

It has been commissioned by the Federal Attorney-General’s Department. The project seeks views and experiences of LGBTIQA+ adults and/or older adults regarding the abuse and/or mistreatment they may have experienced.
