This online study aims to understand the relationship between chronic illness, social isolation, and loneliness and once through the screening process, it should take 30-45 minutes.
The survey designers tell us you don’t have to be experiencing loneliness or social isolation to participate. You will be asked to complete a short online screening survey first to determine if the study is suitable for you.

Be diagnosed with at least one of the nine common physical chronic diseases (i.e., arthritis, asthma, diabetes, back pain, cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease)
Be able to read and write English (to the level of comprehending the daily newspaper)
Reside in Australia
Not have a cognitive impairment (e.g., due to dementia or brain injury) or significant psychiatric comorbidity (e.g. psychosis, delirium).
Even though the survey is about social isolation, you do not have to be experiencing loneliness or social isolation to participate.
