The recent 22/23 Official Community Visitor Scheme Annual Report revealed that boarding houses had the lowest proportion of legal issues resolved compared to the other accommodation options for older people.

That's why the Boarding House Project has been established - through the Project, Senior's Rights solicitors are empowered to provide advice, representation and advocacy services including legal health checks amongst boarding house residents.

There's still work to be done: many people living in boarding houses aren’t aware of their rights or the legal services Seniors Rights offers.

Based on our findings we're developing methods to empower older people living in boarding houses to assert their rights and address issues they are facing.
