CareTick is a new software application, developed by Wagga-based twin sisters with a background in NDIS plan management. It’s positioned as a crucial safeguard against fraud and compliance failures across the disability and aged care sectors.

The app introduces a simple, real-time clock-on and clock-off system using NFC technology (a tap-on card, wristband, or device), immediately notifying families and funding managers of the exact service duration.

This direct, instant verification mechanism is designed to replace outdated manual timesheets, addressing systemic concerns over invoicing discrepancies and the ethical delivery of care services.

Amanda Bourne, Co-Founder of CareTick, said "As Plan Managers, Katrina and I saw first-hand how time-consuming and prone to error, and exploitation, the manual invoice system was.

When families run out of funds unexpectedly because of incorrect or unverifiable claims, it's not just a budget issue; it's a catastrophic failure of ethical delivery that has real world impact on loved ones.

CareTick brings certainty and clarity back. When a provider taps the card, the person receiving the service and the family instantly knows. It’s about transparency for the participant, not just for the auditor."

CareTick is supported by Federal Member for Riverina, The Hon Michael McCormack MP.

"People seeking NDIS support are among our nation’s most vulnerable people – it is important we can do everything possible to instil improved accountability in the system. Amanda and Katrina have developed a simple solution to an issue affecting thousands across Australia.”
