Elder abuse: the older person’s experience

A report containing interviews and answers of 24 people to better understand their experience of elder abuse, intervention, and outcomes.

In collaboration with Seniors Rights Victoria, NARI interviewed 24 older people about how they responded to others facing elder abuse.

The most common advice interviewees gave to other older people facing abuse was to contact Seniors Rights Victoria.

Advice to governments and service providers centred around the need for affordable accommodation for the older person and perpetrators, and affordable mental health and rehabilitation services.
