The 2023 Intergenerational Report devoted a chapter to Australia’s population, in particular its ageing profile. Life expectancies in Australia have been improving over time and will continue to do so, and are amongst the highest in the world.
As the proportion of people aged over 65 steadily increases the overall population of older people vulnerable to elder abuse increases accordingly.
