Final evaluation of Eastern Community Legal Centre’s Elder Abuse Response Programs - ROSE and ELSA service trials

An independent evaluation of twin reports into the causes and prevention of elder abuse was launched last week.

The report shares the results of two Elder Abuse Response Programmes – ELSA and ROSE – joint projects between the ECLC, Eastern Health, and Oonah Belonging Place.

Both reports share key lessons for elder abuse service providers, advocate for more integrated services, and draw attention to gaps in the system that must be resolved in order to prevent elder abuse.

The independent evaluation was undertaken by La Trobe University, RMIT University, and the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI).

It found that “…both programs have achieved their goals to the highest level possible...“ and recommends that the models and solutions proposed be adapted and expanded to other organisations.
