Acting Assistant Commissioner Hege Burns

Acting Assistant Commissioner Hege Burns is a highly respected and long-serving member of the Northern Territory Police Force. Now acting lead of the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence and Youth Command, she joined NT Police in 1993 and served for many years in remote communities. Since returning to Darwin, A/AC Burns has worked in many specialist areas, including the COVID-19 Emergency Operations Centre (as incident controller) and the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services College (as commander). She received the Australian Police Medal in the Australia Day 2024 Honours List.
