Information about a new trial, Befriending with GENIE (BwGEN), will also be presented - an innovative intervention to reduce loneliness and increase social support and service access for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) people living with dementia and their carers. We will also consider how AI is being introduced as a social connection for older people.
Speaker: Professor Colleen Doyle
Colleen Doyle is an Adjunct Professor at Edith Cowan University and Honorary Fellow at the National Ageing Research Institute. Colleen is a research psychologist with a PhD in memory training and intellectual disability and a career long interest in mental health, dementia and ageing. She founded the Psychology and Ageing Interest Group in the Australian Psychological Society. She conducted the first Australian study of depression in older adults living in Australian residential aged care and the first national evaluation of the Australian government’s dementia initiative.
