Isolation

People who are isolated and are living without their desired level of social contact may feel lonely and anxious. Together, loneliness and isolation can have a negative effect on their health and wellbeing and may put them at higher risk of abuse and being taken advantage of. People can be isolated because of their geographical location (such as living alone or in a small town with limited transport options), communication or mobility difficulties, or their social circumstance (having few friends or family).
