When somebody contacts you via email, text message or phone and pretends to be from a company you trust, such as your bank, the government or the tax office. They will often ask you to confirm your personal details, passwords or credit card details – and in doing so will steal these details. If you are contacted in this way, do not click on the link. Use the company’s publicly listed phone number to call them if you think it might be legitimate.
