Submissions are open for the 2021 Australian Association of Gerontology Conference . The conference invites us to explore how we can work differently to improve the experience of ageing through connecting research, policy and practice. The 54th AAG Conference will be held on the Gold Coast from 9th to 12th November 2021 with pre-Conference workshops on 9th of November. There will be virtual participation options available.
National Volunteer Week 2021
National Volunteer Week (NVW) celebrates the invaluable contribution of the volunteering community across Australia.
Volunteering Queensland, alongside Volunteering Australia and the other state peak bodies lead the nation in celebrating the important work of volunteers across the country.
Following from events of 2020 which saw a huge shift in the sector and many pertinent events cancelled, we plan on making NVW2021 a celebration to remember.
Multicultural Advocacy in the NT - COTA NT
In the Northern Territory the Partners in Culturally Appropriate Aged Care (PICAC) program is managed by COTA NT (also known as Council on the Ageing – Northern Territory).
Our Program Manager delivers the PICAC program through a wide program of activities based on networking – making connections within the NT community through events and meetings; and representation – giving CaLD seniors a voice at advisory groups and forums, service delivery and training.
