In NSW, drivers must undergo annual medical tests once they turn 75 to maintain their licence.

Once they turn 85, they must also complete a practical driving test every two years.

But older drivers can skip the on-road assessment if they volunteer for a conditional licence, which limits how far they can drive and may stop them driving at night.
