Central Queensland Community Legal Centre

Providing access to free legal services to the vulnerable and disadvantaged in Central and North West Queensland.

The CQCLC is a generalist legal service, providing services that aim to assist those whose financial circumstances would otherwise exclude them from accessing legal support and for those from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, translation services ensure that these communities are supported.

In partnership with Relationships Australia Queensland, we provide legal information and advice to those at risk of experiencing elder abuse.  The service is available to people over the age of 60 and or over the age of 50 for Indigenous people and that are at risk of experiencing elder abuse.

The CQCLC has significant experience in the area of elder abuse providing legal advice and some casework assistance to clients regarding:

  • Elder abuse – commonly financial, emotional and psychological;

  • Enduring Powers of Attorney;

  • Wills/intestacy;

  • Grandparents’ rights.

The CQCLC can, where appropriate:

  • provide information, advice and support regarding elder abuse

  • mistreatment or financial exploitation

  • provide information about your legal rights

  • refer you to other legal, consumer and support services

  • provide community education

Servicing Biloela, Gladstone, Mount Isa, Rockhampton and Yeppoon, Central Queensland Community Legal Centre is here for Central and North Western regional, rural and remote communities.
