The Pit Carer Workshop

Carers WA

Carers WA presents an informative workshop for carers delving into some of the common challenges associated with caring for a family member, friend or loved one and exploring self-supporting behaviours and skills to help build longevity and resilience within the caring role.

The Pit carer workshop is externally facilitated by private practitioner, Louisa Holmes, a registered Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. “The Pit” focuses on how carers can come to feel trapped or stuck in the ”‘dark of the pit” in their caring role and struggle to find the way out into the light.

Compassion Fatigue And Healthy Boundaries Workshop

Carers WA

Carers WA presents an interactive workshop for carers exploring some of the common challenges experienced when caring for a family member, friend or loved one. Compassion fatigue is a natural part of the caring role and can often result in feeling burnt out. One of the best preventatives for burn-out is having clear boundaries and being able to communicate them effectively.

Together, we will practice self-supporting behaviours and learn skills to create longevity and resilience within the caring role. This engaging workshop will include reflective tools and strategies for you to take home.

Elder Abuse - Your family and your home

Legal Aid NSW

In this webinar we speak with a senior solicitor and social worker from the Legal Aid NSW Elder Abuse Service about elder abuse that can occur in the family and home. It's not uncommon for older people to find themselves sharing their home with an adult child. To fit with the Seniors Festival 2021 theme, 'In our Nature', we will explore emerging legal themes and challenges, particularly when an older person is sharing their home with an adult child and how community and support workers can help.
